Sock it to me

My first attempt at a sock, just like Nan used to make. Her pattern must be tucked away somewhere so hope I can find it ... somewhere! Meanwhile, I found my own pattern, took a visual tutorial from youtube and set off knitting! I have made a few mistakes but generally it's not too bad for a first attempt. As it is one of my unfinished projects and  summer is now approaching, I'm not sure when I'll complete it. Just wish Nan was here to show me how it's done - she knitted socks for the soldiers in WW1. We all still use some of the socks she knitted - they just go on an on. I'll find a pair and photograph them to show you - soon.

Long time no post

A scarf for dad using NZ possum merino wool

Time I added something. I've had a lazy Sunday morning, both of us sick, so I've been catching up on reading blogs, new and old, photo loading to flickr, etc etc. Realised I'm neglecting what I had planned to work on this year, my craft journey! So many ideas, so little time. yada yada. Work gets in the way. TV numbs the mind. Days roll by.
Here goes ... some of the things I've been playing with over the last few months:

A scarf that goes with a beret already crocheted for my niece

Yay, I finished something!

Yes, that's correct, a project is now officially complete - it says so in Ravelry!
It was fun and easy and what's more, I think I will definitely wear it.

Now, what next? Should I finish the squares for my rug, or perhaps connect the squares for the Wrap with love rugs at work.
But what I really want to do is start an Ishbel ... or perhaps Brooke's column of leaves ... or perhaps the Leaf beret (there's something going on here with leaves ...) or perhaps some more bed socks (wish I could find the mum's pattern - I've put it somewhere safe ... I made a pair last year by trial and error and they worked OK)

Not sure. I will report back.
