Heavenly hexagons

Hexagon purse by Choccybangles
Just found this little purse over at Choccybangles. Very sweet.

I have to show you something hexagonny from my collection, made by me and my mum :::
It's a quilt and we started it, hem, hem, back in the - dramatic pause - 1970's. Yes, too true. It's made from Laura Ashley squares, from back when the store first opened in Sydney (and I was still at school!) We would travel down for a shopping day from time to time and I would buy another pack of mixed squares. We had to supplement the fabric a little, but I still have some of the original fabric left to complete the quilt.
My mum's no longer with us, so I have a major challenge to finish this off, now that I've set off on my creative path. This weekend, I will commence!

Weekend wonders

A lovely quilt popped up this morning, while I was eating my breakfast and browsing the blogs :::
This is really gorgeous - but not only that, what a great way to photograph a quilt. The drystone wall, the long green grass and those fabulous red boots! It's by the very talented Saidos da Conchas

It stayed on my mind ...

Then what should pop up a little later, while perusing Flickr?

Love the colours here and the layout works extremely well.

And then of course, it had to happen - another one surfaced :::

This one is still in the making and dreaming stage but I get the feeling it will turn out just as spiffy.

Me?

I unpacked these fabrics and patterns purchased in Boulder City at the lovely Fiddlesticks quilt shop.
But the need for house cleaning invaded my creative space.
Oh well, at least I have a reasonably clean house and one extremely dust free and sparkling bedroom to smile about.
